My Personal Journey

Tbh, my DE career started accidentally, when I’ve been actively looking for Junior Python developer jobs.🤫

💬 Then all of a sudden got an opportunity from PepsiCo:

• “Hey, we are looking for Junior Data Engineers, wanna join?"

I was like:

• “Data Engineering? What is that? Is it even a good career path? I've been learning like Docker, APIs, web frameworks, etc. How is all of that applied? How can I succeed with that?"

But after some research, I've understood that DE is a highly, hiiiiighly perspective career, that sweet spot between software engineering and data analysis.

🎲 So I took the leap of faith...

And now a Senior Data Engineer at TripAdvisor, 2x AWS and Google certified, wrangling gazillion of data. I work mostly with Python, SQL (ofc), Airflow, Snowflake, BigQuery, AWS, GCP, dbt, recently started with Java, occasionally playing around with Databricks, Neo4j, etc. And many other complimentary tools.

Leading this blog is my hobby, a place where I can unload all the intricacies of Data field and build a community around. Join, we are more than 40,000!
